GlassGuard Privacy Policy
GlassGuard works without an account and keeps Bluetooth detection records on your device. Version 1.1.0 is an offline release. The optional analytics described below applies only to versions that offer the usage-analytics switch, starting with the planned 1.1.1 update.
Data stored on your device
Scan history, personal signatures, alert preferences, temporary muted radio profiles and calibration profiles stay on your device. They are not uploaded automatically. History is shared only when you choose to export it through Android's share sheet; the destination you select then handles that copy.
Bluetooth scanning
GlassGuard reads Bluetooth Low Energy advertisements to estimate whether supported camera-glasses or Bluetooth-camera profiles may be nearby. A match does not prove that a device has a camera or is recording. GlassGuard does not use Bluetooth scans to derive your location and does not access GPS coordinates.
Optional usage analytics
In versions that offer it, usage analytics is off by default. If you opt in during onboarding or in Privacy & support, Google Analytics for Firebase receives app interactions and limited outcome, count and duration categories. We use these to understand which features work and where people encounter difficulties.
Google's SDK also processes app-instance identifiers and automatic information such as app version, operating system, device model, language and session activity. Network requests expose an IP address to the provider, which may use it to derive approximate regional information. This is not anonymous data. We do not send Bluetooth device names or identifiers, service UUIDs, raw signal readings, personal notes, places or scan-history records as analytics parameters.
Advertising identifier collection, ad storage and advertising-personalization consent are disabled. GlassGuard does not use this analytics integration to serve ads. Detection remains available when you decline analytics.
Your choices and deletion
You can turn usage analytics off in Privacy & support. This disables future app measurement and resets locally held analytics data. It does not automatically erase events already received by Google. Removing scan history in GlassGuard deletes local detection records, not previously uploaded analytics events.
Local history is retained for up to 30 days and can be deleted in the app. Analytics events already uploaded are subject to the configured Google Analytics retention settings and Google's processing policies. For a privacy or deletion request, contact us below. We do not maintain a GlassGuard account or an email-to-analytics-identifier directory, so we may not be able to link a request to a particular analytics record. Do not send a scan history or information about nearby people to identify yourself.
Providers and security
Optional analytics is processed by Google and transmitted using encrypted network connections. Google may process data outside your country. See Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy information. No method of storage or transmission is completely risk-free.
Accounts and purchases
GlassGuard does not require an account. These Android releases do not include Google Play Billing, a paywall or automatic uploads to a community signature registry.
Children
GlassGuard is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
